Dan is a world-class entrepreneur and ticketing industry veteran. Riccardo "fluffypony" Spagni is a member of the Monero Core Team, the stewards of the Monero Project, and is also the lead maintainer of the Monero and Monero Core projects. Over the past year, 177 developers contributed new code to Monero, making it one of the largest open-source teams in the world, and a top 2 percent project on Open Hub. Cayle has several years experience3 in the cryptocurrency space, having left Coinbase in 2018 shortly before joining the Tari team. He brings this experience as well as ten years of process design and optimization expertise to bear on executing on the Tari vision. He considered a career in crypto-Twitter trolling, but abandoned that idea after a mysterious hit-and-run incident involving a lambo with registration fluffee1.3 Dan has a footnote. Hansie Odendaal studied engineering and worked in diverse industries before joining Tari, including space, defence, information technology and nuclear. Software development has always been close at heart and quality deliverables are a passion. He developed career strengths and interests in systems engineering, technical project management, nuclear software engineering, software engineering, modelling & simulation and technical documentation4. Continuous technical challenges make him feel alive. He is a fervent student and practitioner of the art of karate, the perfect de-stressing agent! Kevoulee Sardar has completed postgraduate studies in chemistry, applied chemistry and business administration. She has spent years involved in research and development, particularly in the field of inorganic physical chemistry (platinum anti-cancer research). Prior to joining Tari, she worked in the management consulting arena, where she participated in the design and implementation of project management and economic development strategies and solutions. She enjoys a challenge and is eager to learn new skills. Kevoulee is a keen baker and an avid supporter of Arsenal Football Club.
With an academic background in Law and Computer Science, Tineil brings 8 years of experience in driving business hiring by using Talent Acquisition integration with HR strategy. Having singularly built high performance development teams for Global Corporations, Tineil is a multi-linguist of technology driven businesses, speaking fluent geek, recruiter, HR, professional stalker and difficult candidate. When she isn’t out riding super-bikes and dreaming about joining the Avengers, she enjoys travelling and Harry Potter.
Shay grew up in the multicultural city of Toronto. Shay spent most of her life engaging in activities such as snowboarding, drizzling maple syrup on almost everything and using the word “eh,” after every sentence. She attended medical school for three years after realizing she wanted to explore the world. This consequently gave her the knowledge and ability to dislocate shoulders, however, the effectiveness was reduced due to the compulsive need to apologize arising from her Canadian background. She travelled to over 64 cities and lived in 5 different countries from South America, the US to the Middle east and now South Africa. She has no idea how she became part of Fluffy's world or block chain. But being Fluffy's little pony has taught her to learn, stumble and explore.
Zach is an avid product creator and entrepreneur who has been a founding team member and advisor for a number of Bay Area startups. He has a background in software engineering and operations, with hands-on experience across all aspects of the product development lifecycle holding leadership roles, from head of engineer to CEO, for products that have scaled to millions of users across a number of industries. Zach has a passion for building and empowering winning teams by designing systems that support holistic continuous improvement.
Ryan is a seasoned builder with a track record of bringing new products to market through sales and business development. Ryan serves as a mentor and advisor to some of the top accelerators and startups in the US, with a focus on the digital asset space. Previously, Ryan served as a senior member of the Ticketfly leadership team, where he led corporate and business development.
Roxanne is a talented financial executive who specializes in strategy and reporting for start-up and growth stage companies. In addition to her role at Tari, she is the Chief Financial Officer of Sparkart, a California based digital agency and private investment platform whose client roster has included the Killers, Bon Jovi, Ultimate Fighting Championship, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, and many others. She has over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Statistics from UC Berkeley.
Qualified as a Chartered Accountant in December 2009 after completing his articles at Deloitte. Post articles, he gained experience as a financial manager for a brief period, after which he joined Absa Capital and later Nedbank Corporate as a Credit Manager. He left the banking sector to follow his passion for business and up until joining Tari Labs, he has been working as a financial consultant, primarily focused on assisting start-ups financial management duties. Over his career, he has been exposed to a variety of industries such as construction, mining, manufacturing, steel and banking, and thus brings an array of skills to the team.
Louis is a seasoned operator with deep experience providing strategic counsel to high-growth technology companies and ensuring clear visibility into current and future legal landscapes. Before working with Tari, Louis oversaw West Coast operations as General Manager of The Meet Group. Prior to that, he served as SVP Legal and Corporate Development at if(we), where he led the company’s successful acquisition by The Meet Group in 2017. Louis began his career as a corporate associate with Dewey Ballantine LLP working on M&A and securities offerings, and is a graduate of Wesleyan University (B.A.) and Columbia Law School (J.D.), where he served as an Editor of the Columbia Law Review.
Jonathan grew up as a boarding school boy out in rural KwaZulu Natal and has spent the rest of his life moving closer and closer to the modern world. After Jonathan received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Cape Town, he was employed at Norton Rose Fulbright in Johannesburg where he was retained in the Tax Department. While there, he began dabbling in the cryptocurrency space and began assisting clients from all over the globe expand their crypto-businesses into South Africa. Now, he’s a bit more selective as to who gets his advice.
Ash is an expert at developing scrappy solutions that scale. She has worked with 30+ startups and entertainment brands — notably she has run digital marketing and ecom for Beyoncé, Bon Jovi, and Carrie Underwood. Ash was integral to the success of the inaugural Project Coral Reef campaign in December 2017, which resulted in Monero acceptance in over 50 online stores. She focuses on growth marketing, product management / development, brand building, and business operations. She also enjoys cooking and long walks with her dog, Chimichanga.
Schalk has a PhD in computer engineering and worked on a diverse amount of projects before joining Tari. These include but not limited to communication, simulation, ETL and control systems. He has always had a passion for solving technical challenges and implementing them. He also has a great like for history and believe we can learn a lot from it. In his free time you can perhaps find him in front of his PC, not looking at code.
Jason fled the corporate world in 2015 and has been on the run ever since. He got involved with the drone industry and built a web platform for hiring drone operators in South Africa as well as a few other apps for some early stage startups. Jason became interested in the crypto space when he started mining Monero (on testnet) early 2016. He’s also built a few Bitcoin related apps (also just testnet) since then and has yet to come back up the rabbit hole.
Keith has been involved in the startup life for the last 15 years, he has a passion for building new products in all walks of technology. He has launched and run products in the forex, finance, medical, insurance and tracking spaces. The journey into cryptocurrency is the natural path when you are chasing the technological dragon. In his free time he does martial arts or takes long leisurely motorbike rides out to the countryside.
Philip is an electronic engineer with a background in computer vision, machine learning and robotics. He worked at the University of Johannesburg as a lecturer in the Electronic Engineering Science department for 9 years, where he lectured courses in programming and microcontrollers in addition to his research activities. His research was primarily focused on image enhancement and automatic target detection. In joining Tari, he aims to use his engineering experience to contribute to the future of blockchain technology.
